Hair

Taber decided that he could try and cut his hair shorter than we normally do. It's been over a year since he started growing his hair out. He thought because of this, his hair would be able to stay down. His hair is really good at sticking straight up (just check the Halloween post). Its doing a good job staying down. I just wish that she wouldn't have cut his bangs (I guess what they are, but it seems like a such a girly term to me) so short. However, the good thing about hair is, it always grows back. So, enjoy the photos.

Life is good

Life is busy but good. Rebecca has had two full weeks at her new job and is liking it much better than her previous one. Team teaching in kindergarten is great fit right now. I am still running around at school and work trying to remember all formulas I need for my tests. Between my Mechanics of Materials class and Physics it has proven a dedicated feat. However, the end is drawing nigh fortunately. Only three more weeks of full classes and then we have finals week and it is over. With all of that and our church callings in the YW and scouts we have been very busy. But you know what they say about being busy don't you? Once your not busy, you wish you were. Actually I don't think they really say that. I just made it up. But it sounds like one of those sayings right? At any rate we just need to make sure we get to bed on time so we don't fall ill.

Halloween

We got invited to two Halloween parties. One on Friday night and one on Saturday night. Both were fun and all were awe struck at my costume. Okay not really my costume but my hair. Below are some pictures.

Not a bad pumpkin eh?

Job update 2

The rest of the story is Rebecca got offered two jobs. We decided to go with the charter school in West Jordan called Navigator Pointe Academy. The only draw back is the commute she will have to make. Otherwise we felt like it was the best choice. The other school in Lehi is a private school and was only offering her an "internship or aide" position. If they liked her after the internship/aide period then they would offer a full time position. Also through the dealings Rebecca had with them she didn't like the "feel" with them, we'll say. However with Navigator Pointe Academy Rebecca was offered a full time position up front! The best part is it is her dream position, a Kindergarten teacher, team teaching. She will receive a full salary even though she is team teaching. They can afford this because they are a charter school. This is perfect because she has always thought that her best grade level is kindergarten and she is team teaching so she is working with an experienced teacher to help her. Also she can ask questions. Rebecca starts tomorrow November 2, 2009.

Overall we are feeling very blessed and excited to start anew.

Job update

Rebecca's last day at her old job was Thursday the 15th. She finished and has been happier ever since. On Monday she had two interviews with a private school in Lehi and a charter school in West Jordan. We are still waiting to hear back from either one of them. We have been doing good and feel blessed that she was able to at least interview for some jobs.

Volleyball

I am in an intermediate volleyball class this semester and I have been on an intramural volleyball team as well. I have never played volleyball much until after my mission. I guess one of the reasons why I picked up the sport was because one of my old mission companions was a huge volleyball player and he taught me some volleyball strategy. I got curious. Also I have gotten taller in recent years which helps with volleyball. Because I have been playing volleyball about four times a week recently my skills have improved greatly. I would even say I am an average player until last night's tragedy. Last night I was playing volleyball and while I was playing next to the net I jumped super high to block an opponent's spike. When I came down I landed on his foot rolling my ankle. I was down and whimpering in half a second. So yes I sprained my ankle. Today has taught me that it was a pretty good sprain. Not one you can just limp off in a couple of days. So we are going to buy some ace bandages and maybe some crutches. Hopefully I can walk and jump normally in a couple of months. Until then I'll try to hobble around carefully cursing the stairs.
